Role Summary
As the Head of Engineering Delivery at Greencastle Digital, you will play a pivotal role in leading our technology transformation. Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer, you will oversee a team of 150+ professionals, including .NET and React front-end developers, Oracle developers, DevOps engineers, and Quality Assurance staff. This full-time position is focused on coordinating delivery across our agile roadmaps, breaking down silos between teams, and ensuring seamless communication with key stakeholders. You will drive the migration from a monolithic Oracle database environment to a modern event-driven architecture with microservices, while supporting key initiatives like replacing legacy ASP pages with React, implementing Kafka, breaking down the monolith into transactional and archival components, migrating to AWS, and overhauling testing from manual to automated processes. Success in this role will be measured by on-time project delivery, reduction in downtime, team productivity improvements, and achieving a balance between tactical changes and long-term strategic architecture goals to minimize technical debt.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute delivery plans that align with our agile roadmaps, ensuring all planned features and initiatives have realistic delivery dates that incorporate proper agile processes, building, and testing to company standards.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with a large development team of 150+, fostering collaboration to break down silos and enhance cross-team efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Architecture on technical strategies, the Director of Product on roadmap alignment, commercial and operational directors on business needs, and the PMO team on transformation initiatives.

• Oversee major projects including the shift to microservices and event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka rollout), monolith decomposition, AWS cloud migration, React UI modernization, and the transition to automated testing and improved quality assurance practices.

• Monitor and report on key metrics such as on-time delivery, downtime reduction, productivity gains, and technical debt reduction, while ensuring a balanced approach between short-term tactical deliveries and medium/long-term architectural goals.

• Provide some input into hands-on technical decisions, such as architecture reviews for microservices and AWS migrations, while relying on specialized architects for detailed implementation.

• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, promoting agile best practices and stakeholder communication to support product innovation and business growth.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in delivery management or engineering leadership roles, preferably in fast-paced, regulated industries like gaming, fintech, or sports betting.

• Proven track record leading large-scale transformations, including migrations from monolithic to microservices architectures, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), cloud migrations (e.g., to AWS), and UI modernizations (e.g., React).

• Strong familiarity with relevant technologies such as .NET, Oracle, React, DevOps tools, and automated testing frameworks.

• Expertise in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices, with experience managing teams of 100+ and breaking down organizational silos.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical teams with product, commercial, and operational goals.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; certifications like PMP, AWS, or Agile/Scrum are preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to balance tactical and strategic priorities, reduce technical debt, and deliver measurable improvements in productivity and quality.
